Classic Madewell denim shorts in a beautifully worn medium-blue wash, cut from substantial 100% cotton denim with the clean, authentic texture you only really get from non-stretch fabric. The silhouette sits somewhere between a traditional vintage cut-off and a cleaner modern high-rise short: structured through the waist and hips, relaxed enough through the leg and finished with a deliberately raw, softly frayed hem. The wash is one of the nicest details here. It has natural-looking fading through the front and seat, deeper indigo around the seams and pockets, and slightly lighter abrasion through the high points of the denim. The contrast tobacco stitching and warm copper-toned rivets give the shorts that classic American denim character Madewell does particularly well.
