A piece of early ‘90s luxury tailoring from Escada’s flagship line, designed by co-founder Margaretha Ley (pieces with her name on the label are the most sought-after by collectors). Princess Diana famously wore this label. Features subtle Western-inspired details: a topstitched curved yoke at the shoulders and across the back, and oversized patch pockets with the same topstitched detailing. Made of a premium linen-cotton blend (62% linen, 38% cotton). 1990s Escada jackets were made in Germany and are known for their superb construction. This brand is famous for using bespoke, high-quality statement buttons – these ones are gunmetal/silver with a crest in the centre and ESCADA engraved around the outside. The average sale price of Escada jackets on Vestaire Collective is $217 USD ($365 NZD). Excellent vintage condition. The colour is an amazing shade of purple, and it’s still rich with no fading. There’s just one small mark near the cuff on one sleeve (see photo 5). German size 40. I’d call it an NZ size 12, but please check the measurements.
