This is the correct measurement to see the length of the leg. You just need to measure your own inner leg to see where it will hit for length. If you took it from top of jeans to bottom then you'd be measuring the rise which doesn't affect length. Hope that makes sense?
But it doesn’t tell me anything about the rise and where it will sit in my waist or hips. I have a long rise and need high waisted items to be able to fit my length. I’ve made this costly mistake before just going off the leg length. Some jean brands do longer leg length but then don’t increase the rise in proportion. Because I am quite tall, a longer pair of jeans creates a sharper angle when I bend over, causing the waistband to pull down and show my crack. I need a pair with a high rise so the waistband stays securely in place when I move around. Thank you!
