A striking antique evening bag that dates most likely to the 1890s–1910s. The entire body is hand-beaded in tiny black seed beads, scattered with faceted jet-glass stones that catch the light beautifully against the dark ground. Beaded fringe runs along the bottom edge, and the bag closes with a gunmetal kiss-lock frame with an attached chain handle. The overall effect is dramatic and deeply considered – very much in the spirit of late Victorian and Edwardian evening dressing, where black accessories carried both elegance and meaning. A collector's piece or a genuine statement.
