- Amazing vintage 1960s dress - Has metallic green and purple stitching that shimmers in the light, giving it an iridescent look - Comes in slightly at the waist and has coiled details at the front - No fabric label, but it’s a good quality synthetic fabric with a nice weight to it, and it’s fully lined - Very good condition – see note below - No modern size label, but I’d call it a size 10 – see measurements below The label is Eastex and this would have been made in New Zealand in the 1960s. According to the New Zealand Fashion Museum, Eastex was one of a number of British labels manufactured under license in NZ from the 1940s to the 1970s. Condition: There’s a small area of damage on one shoulder where the metallic finish has worn off some of the thread (probably from a handbag strap). I’ve shown this in photo 4, although it looks worse in the photo than it does in real life; the way the fabric catches the light means it’s not very noticeable. Apart from that, the condition is excellent. I love this layered with other shimmery/metallic fabrics (the Trelise Cooper jacket shown in the last photo is also available). Measurements taken when laid flat: Underarm to underarm: 47cm Waist: 37cm Length (top of shoulder seam to hem): 93cm
