Do you normally wear EU40? Would these be better suited to a EU39 size feet? Thank you

I'm normally between EU40 /EU41 - my other pair of Phillipe's are a 40 and they're a perfect fit. I should have sized up in these. I'd say small EU40 or a EU39 would be perfect.
