Pig tusks are traditional money in Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu. You’d be surprised but that is still a case in those countries. They are also used as a jewellery or adornment for traditional dress up. In the West they are used as exotic material for tribal style jewellery. This particular tusk is from Vanuatu. It is old. I’d say between 30 and 40 years. Inner diameter is between 7 and 7.5 cm, outer diameter is between 9 and 10 cm.
