Hey, the bottom sits like a bubble - it's true to the photo. So not a hem stop. Hope that helps/makes sense? :)

Hey, definitely think so. I'm size 8 and it fits me! I only ordered size 10 as my bust is usually wider than most 8's so wanted to be on the safe side. Don't think it would be too big on an 8.

Hey! I couldn't confidentally say for sure that it would fit XS-S with or without alterations. You'd need to see if the tie strings adjust how you like (see the back image) and go from there. There's no 'tight fitting' part to the dress, so it's going to fit flowy on anyone size 6-10 if that makes sense. You might find the tie adjustment is enough? Sorry, hope that's helpful!
