The grooviest cardigan Hand knitted circa 1980 this is one of their vintage pieces - they are still in business today making high end hand crafted knitwear. This piece is in pretty good vintage condition with the exception of minor pulls here and there. New cardigans retail at $500+ USD, vintage pieces of Amano are rare in New Zealand and can often be found by @eleanor_rose_knitwear in the UK who is a vintage knit collector. First image is hers and the same cardigan but hers is more red, this one is more pink/maroon and smaller fit. I am size 12 for reference and I am pictured in the last photos. Such a beautiful piece which I am sad to part with but I am not going to wear her - so I think she deserves someone who will. From their website: Amano means ‘by hand’ Since 1988, we’ve been working with incredible artisans to bring you ethically handmade, fair-trade knitwear. Our Ecuadorian knitters have been with us for over 40 years, and even though they work high up in the mountains of Carchi we feel extremely close to them. They are without doubt the most talented members of the Amano family, as it takes them countless hours and years of experience to produce our knitwear. Amano is for colour lovers and free spirits who want fashion with a human connection. That’s why if you look at our garment tags, you’ll find the name of the exact knitter who handmade your Amano piece. This is clothing with a soul.
