Hi Lucy, sorry I saw your message after your offer & couldn’t respond once I’d accepted it. I’ll answer the question for yourself or anyone else, this is more like a modern 10 and is a more narrow fitting style rather than oversized & definitely isn’t way too big on an 8 but it depends on the look you’re going for. It would work great on an 8 with a layer underneath
