Hi Wendy, they are true to size but the fabric has stretch in it. I fluctuate between a 10 and 12 and they fit fine in both sizes. Plus there is stretch in the back half of the waist band.

Hi Wendy, quite hard to measure. But side seem to side seem 39cm ish. I'll add some photos of the flat front and stretchy back.
