Sacai Zebra Printed Tee with Iconic Pleated Panels from Spring 2020 After working at Comme des Garcons under Rei Kawakubo and Junya Watanabe, designer Chitose Abe founded Sacai in 1999. Familiar garments are reworked with altered proportions and unexpected collages of fabrics, notably delicate chiffons and silks. Abe's designs are informed by a true consideration of how women approach dress while balancing innovation and wearability. This piece features one of Sacai's signature design elements, pleated panels. The pleats at the side seam give the piece a dynamic shape and movement, more voluminous than a traditional t-shirt. The body of the garment is crafted from cotton voile with an all-over zebra print integrating the Sacai branding subtly at the front.
