Hi jus wondering if the waist measurement you mentioned are on the garment label or whether tube measured the band round the top of the shorts? Ty????????

Hi Jenny , I measured the shorts with a tape so very accurate. Hope this helps . The waist has velcro and the tie strap so could be eclxtended over to 31"

The measurement of 30" as comfortable loose fit is around the hips .They are low waisted and sit around the hip bone height
